Starting Your Journey as an Artist (Even If It Feels Uncertain)

If you’ve read through these steps, you might be feeling two things at the same time:

👉 Excited
👉 And a little overwhelmed

That’s completely normal.

Because this is new.

And anything new—especially something meaningful—can feel uncertain at first.

It’s Okay If This Feels Like a Lot

You’re not just making art anymore.

You’re:

  • sharing it
  • presenting it
  • putting yourself out there
  • allowing people to respond to it

That takes courage.

More than most people realize.

This Has Been Done Before

Every artist you admire…

Started somewhere.

They didn’t have everything figured out.
They didn’t have a perfect plan.
They didn’t feel ready.

They simply started.

And then kept going.

You Can Do This Too

Not because it’s easy.

But because it’s possible.

And because:

  • you already create
  • you already care
  • you already see something in your work

That’s enough to begin.

It Doesn’t Happen All at Once

This isn’t one big leap.

It’s a series of small steps:

  • finishing one piece
  • sharing one post
  • applying to one event
  • talking to one person

Then repeating that… over time.

Patience Is Part of the Process

Growth in art doesn’t happen quickly.

And that’s not a flaw—it’s part of what makes it meaningful.

Over time:

  • your work becomes clearer
  • your confidence grows
  • people begin to notice
  • opportunities begin to appear

But it happens gradually.

You Don’t Have to Do Everything at Once

You don’t need to master all 8 steps immediately.

You only need to focus on:
👉 the next step in front of you

That’s it.

A Quiet Reminder

You are not behind.

You are not late.

You are simply at the beginning of something.

And beginnings are allowed to feel uncertain.

Keep Going

Even when it feels slow.
Even when it feels unclear.
Even when you’re not sure if it’s working yet.

Because what you’re building takes time.

And it’s worth it.

When people talk about creativity, they often focus on the final result — the painting on the wall, the sculpture on the pedestal, the song on the radio, or the solution to a difficult problem.
