My work is known for calm, atmospheric landscapes of the Upper Midwest—quiet moments of water, trees, and changing light that invite people to slow down, breathe, and really notice the world around them.
ABOUT BRIAN
Photography, for me, is a way of paying attention. Growing up in Wisconsin, I was drawn to the quiet shifts in light and weather—mist on the water, snow-softened trees, the last color in the sky at day’s edge. Picking up a camera became less about taking pictures and more about noticing moments that are easy to pass by. I work with natural light and minimal editing because I want each photograph to feel true to how it felt to stand there: the calm of a still lake, the warmth of sunset, the hush of winter. Photography is important to me because it turns those brief, quiet experiences into something we can return to. If someone pauses, breathes a little deeper, or feels a sense of peace when they look at my work, then the image has done its job.
